Financial Power Summit, Vancouver October 11

In these tough financial times

I was particularly struck by a three-quarter page ad in the Vancouver Sun this morning that offered to advise on How To Prosper In Today’s Economy. Given this week’s economic news, it would seem an attractive claim. Apparently the 2008 Financial Power Summit presents: New Ways to Make Money in Commercial Real Estate, Probate Real Estate, Stocks, and Currencies. The free full-day event is taking place on October 11.

Of course it is not free in the sense that anyone attending is spending time. Time is valuable. If you are in two minds, you might wish to read the disclaimer on the FPS website, which appears in small print along the bottom of the advertisement:

Financial Power Summit (FPS) is a trademark of Business Skills Corporation, (BSC), a subsidiary of Telligenix Corporation. FPS is a training institute and individual performance depends upon the individual skills, time availability, and dedication of each Student in the training program. Testimonials included may not represent typical results. Unique experiences and past performances do not guarantee future results. FPS, BSC, and their owners, employees, and affiliates do not give financial advice and are not licensed by or registered with any federal or state agency.

As always, caveat emptor.
