We all know that the best blooms are produced by pruning and that’s what Google is now contemplating. As a start, it erased the Google Master Plan. This was never serious but perhaps it encouraged the idea of defocusing as strategy.
Now the new strategy is Focus. Co-founder Sergey Brin is leading a company-wide initiative called ?Features, not products.? He said the campaign started this summer when Google executives realized that myriad product releases were confusing their users.
So perhaps we’ll begin to see less quantity and more quality. That would certainly be a bigger and better Google.
